Amazon Product Research Tool – Six Dirty and Quick Tips to Have Your Very First Golden Product Opportunity

The product selection is, undoubtedly, one of the hardest methods of all. This is why you need to have a dependable Amazon Product Research Tool.

Most often, people get so stuck by the analysis paralysis which they never even launch the product. Weeks are being spent researching followed with some failed supplier negotiations, then it is game over. They establish private labelling is just way too much and they fail to realize on what can be a life-changing and mind-blowing opportunity.

Do not be the lady or the guy, 4 to 5 years later, sitting in an office chair full of tears longing that you had taken your chance when the iron was still that hot.

Have a commitment to yourself to mastering the business concept and you will surely succeed in life. However, before we tackle the research strategies I just want to indicate these two important things:

  1. Some sections in Amazon are gated, that means it needs permission to sell or advertise before you can list the products. Some people disregard the gated sections, even though if you choose one, you’ll basically have lesser competition, so do not fear the gate.

Nonetheless, if you wish to keep the entry portal barrier as easy as possible, do not begin into supplier negotiations before checking if your selected product belongs to the gated section.

You can find the list of gated sections here.

  1. If you are located in the United States, the Jungle Scout (or a free Unicorn Smasher), it’ll make the research much easier and faster. And if you are looking at the United Kingdom, here is a chrome plugin which will make things a little bit faster and the Jungle Scout also works there too. It is a must-have.
  2.  The best way to get things started is with the use of a Jungle Scout web app and you just have to track down products that you aspire. You can actually find it there, just take the free trial and use the guide to sort out the products.

Create a spread sheet in order to store or filter your potential products which shows the best seller rank (BSR), the product name (and link), number of similar items and the number of reviews. All the information you would want to know should be present in the spread sheet.

Start searching the rank 100-500 leading sellers in every section or category (just search for the Amazon’s top 100).

Add the products to your spread sheer which meet the following criteria: light, cost over 20 dollars, small, and not complex. You can use the Jungle Scout to easily to locate better ideas and export the data into spread sheets.

One rule that you should follow is that you do not choose consumable supplements for your first product.

You should also not to try and overdone products like garlic press, silicon baking mat, yoga mat or a chopping board.

(With hundreds and thousands of new students with the ASM course all over the world, some certain products are viciously becoming overused.

Repeat the same process for every category on Amazon and explore as far as you like, I would go as deep as finding into the top 1000 in order to avoid competition.

As a matter of fact, I want to go deep into the most top selling lists with the use of the Amasuite 4, however you can either start research in the field you know or use the Jungle Scout web app. Actually, you should be using at least the Unicorn Smasher or the Jungle Scout itself.

Make a Refined Short List

We need to go deeper in every product, for every listed product, do these following steps (the Jungle Scout provides you all at one glance):

  1. Find the primary keyword in Amazon (if somehow you found that yoga mat was on the top 50 sellers, go to Amazon then type in yoga mat and look at the recent top 10 sellers on the first page.
  2. If most of the recent top 10 have more than 400 reviews, cut them off your list (the more reviews that you have to complete, the harder, more expensive and longer the things will be for you).
  3. If the Best Seller Rank is over 3000 for most of the top ten, cut them off (the goal is to actually make sure all top 10 are getting reasonable sales, then type in yoga mat and look at the recent top 10 sellers on the first page.
  4. If most of the recent top 10 have more than 400 reviews, cut them off your list (the more reviews that you have to complete, the harder, more expensive and longer the things will be for you).
  5. If the Best Seller Rank is over 3000 for most of the top ten, cut them off (the goal is to actually make sure all top 10 are getting reasonable sales.
