What did I learn from signing up with Wealthy Affiliate?
Affiliate marketing is a rapidly evolving field that is still defining itself. The need for sensible platforms, coaching, and continued learning are increasingly obvious and different affiliate marketing services have stepped into the ring to fill this need.
The industry has come a long way since the days of email and adware spam by merchants that would damage unsuspecting brands. Modern affiliate marketing practice requires unobtrusive and convincing techniques to attract positive attention to publishers.
So, how does Wealthy Affiliate stack up in earning you money in the new world of modern affiliate marketing?
For ten years, Wealthy Affiliate has strived to satisfy clients with its wide range of affiliate marketing-related services. It’s part web platform, part affiliate marketing university, and part massive support system.
Its formula for clients involves a 4-step process. Each step involves both development tools and educational workshops to assure maximum effectiveness.
First, the client chooses a field of interest from a virtually unlimited range of options.
Wealthy Affiliate coaches users through the selection procedure, claiming there are millions of potential options that will generate web traffic and thus drive strong revenue. The website helps users narrow their interests to drive traffic from specific web demographics using targeted content, increasing effectiveness.
Next, a website is built around the user’s chosen interest using the website’s own site-building platform, which it says is the most advanced in the world.
Will the average user be able to build a website using Wealthy Affiliate’s platform?
Their site-building formula emphasizes user simplicity and mobile accessibility, all while educating the client about the importance of a quality website as the basis of generating revenue. Once again, a huge variety of courses are offered on this subject.
The third step is attracting visitors. The tricky step of creating web traction is vital in affiliate marketing.
I wanted to know how Wealthy Affiliate drives web users to visit its client’s websites in order to create revenue streams.
The courses offered by Wealthy Affiliate emphasize recent and proven methods to gather a large number of page views. High search bar placement and significant visibility on major search engines, such as Google, is also ensured for the Wealthy Affiliate client.
The critical last step is the heart of affiliate marketing: Product referrals and affiliate programs. Users of client’s websites will be redirected to products which, once purchased, will provide clients with commission on that product.
Sign-up for a basic version of the website is free, and premium user capabilities are available for month for the first month, then $49/month. The service’s premium version features live video training, unlimited one-on-one coaching, higher payouts and extended web features, among other benefits. The premium version is highly recommended for all already familiar with affiliate marketing because of its web features and 2x higher payouts compared to the free edition.
The website emphasizes long-term popularity through meaningful web content rather than quick buy-ins that eventually fail.
It encourages its users to create content they are really passionate about as a way to ensure high-quality, profitable websites.
Wealthy Affiliate says that it is the industry leader in the highly profitable and growing field of affiliate marketing, with the largest single user base (over 850,000 affiliates) of the $3.4 billion industry. Its website goes in-detail about its team, its business and coaching practices, and its drive for constant innovation.
In an industry with so many shady tactics and unverified practices, it’s hard to know which services are going to provide users with real, stable revenue.
If you’re anything like me, you don’t care for bling-bling websites, outlandish claims, or spray-tanned spokesmen telling tall tales about big paydays through unverified approaches.
You want serious, no-nonsense and proven methods to get the results you’re looking for.
Wealthy Affiliate seems transparency and lack of hyperbolic statements is a sharp contrast to the “scammy” websites that abound online.
So, let’s get straight to it: is Wealthy Affiliate an effective way to generate long-term passive income? What are users saying about Wealthy Affiliate and the results they’ve obtained while using it?
First, let’s start with what makes Wealthy Affiliate different from other affiliate marketing programs.
-No credit card information is required for signup
-No cost to begin using the service
-Provides no “get rich quick” promises
-Provides 2 free WordPress websites
-Provides access to an unmatched online community that includes newbies and veteran affiliate marketers
-Site founders participate in online support community
-Supportive and non-competitive user environment
What was my experience of the website like?
The first thing that struck me about using Wealthy Affiliate was the massive online support community it provides. People with a huge range of interests and backgrounds were exchanging openly on the site’s forums, providing information that could save users years of time if they were stuck learning the trade on their own.
What happened next was simply unprecedented: the site’s founders, Kyle and Carson, sent me a personalized message welcoming me to the site and letting me know that it was OK to remain a free member for as long as I wished. For a website with such a huge membership base, this was a really pleasant surprise and left a positive impression.
Because the website doesn’t use scammy tactics to generate revenue, it requires and rewards real work on the part of its users. Membership is free, but signing up and taking 10 minutes to make a website definitely doesn’t guarantee success.
If you’re able to keep at it and generate quality content, the sky’s the limit, but you have to be committed.
Luckily, the site’s multi-step strategy walks you through each facet of the process so you don’t have to waste time figuring everything out on your own.
This streamlined process helps your passion and ideas shine through while avoiding nagging details like seeking web platforms, optimizing your website, or trying to appear in search engines. Wealthy Affiliate helps you define your ideas then easily transform them into salable web content.
Since this removes all the guesswork from affiliate marketing, I cannot recommend Wealthy Affiliate enough for those who are new to the industry and want to get their feet wet. It’s also great for experienced users who are sick of wasting time with the tedious and ineffective aspects of affiliate marketing, which are automatically provided for them on Wealthy Affiliate.
Is using Wealthy Affiliate risky?
Simply put, there is no risk in signing up for Wealthy Affiliate since membership is free and signing up requires no credit card information.
New users should start with the “Getting Started” course. I took some time to get through this, but my interest grew with each lesson. Afterwards, the site proposed a 59% discount on premium membership. Since I had already spent time on the forums and enjoyed the video content, I decided to try the premium membership.
What difference does the premium membership make, and was it worth it?
What was available in the premium membership that couldn’t be found for free on Wealthy Affiliate or elsewhere on the web?
After all, there is a ton of information about affiliate marketing available for free on other websites.
Here are the premium account features that you get from the upgraded account:
– 1 on 1 coaching (this feature ends after 7 days in the free version)
– Private access to owners
– 24/7/365 website support
– Web feedback platform, web comment platform, and website analysis
– Unlimited live help
– Private messaging
– Up to 20 websites
– Web security package
– All 7 phases of Affiliate Bootcamp Training
– Access to 12 training classrooms
– Access to live video classes
– Access to the site’s keyword research tool, allowing further market research
– 2x higher payout for the affiliate program
This is in addition to the affiliate program, the “teaser” versions of training classrooms and Affiliate Bootcamp Training, and the “earn while you learn” aspect of the website that makes it unique.
To be brief, what I found was that the quality of the education content and the support forums is virtually unmatched elsewhere on the web.
I had spent years looking for quality online content that would create real revenue, but I always had the feeling that this training and information was just out of my reach.
Now that I’m getting on in years, I realized I didn’t have a lot of time to waste on sketchy, out-of-date or incomplete information. Since the first month at Wealthy Affiliate is offered at $19/month and I was already happy with the services, I didn’t hesitate to give it a try.
The website was co-founded by Kyle, the company’s Marketing Chief, and Carson, its Design Chief. Although they are veteran affiliate markets and have launched other business ventures, Wealthy Affiliate is their most successful.
The team is rounded out by KC (Programming Chief and head of innovation at the office), Aaron (Technology Chief in charge of making the “beast” of a website run moothly) and Jay, Training Chief and head of the site’s educational content.
All of the company’s team members play an active role in ember support, content creation, and smooth functioning. They place a premium on innovation and staying ahead of industry practices.
Are there any downsides to using Wealthy Affiliate?
Although I was really happy with Wealthy Affiliate’s services, any review would be incomplete without acknowledgement of the disadvantages and downsides of a product or service. Nothing is perfect, after all.
One potential downside for some users is that Wealthy Affiliate is not intended to be a get-rich-quick scheme or used for a quick payday. Passive wealth accumulates over time and requires a period of initial investment. Wealthy Affiliate gives you the tools to make this long-term investment in growing your revenue. Once each step of the 4-part system has been completed, users can earn hundreds or even thousands of dollars per month with little maintenance or upkeep. But this cannot be achieved without an initial period of dedication to creating quality websites.
Additionally, since Wealthy Affiliate provides users with tons of information, videos, and one-on-one coaching, they might get lost in all the details available to them. Users have to remember that these tools are great for helping them, but have to be put into practice in order to be effective. The connectivity between users is great, but the site shouldn’t be used purely as a chatroom, because this can become counterproductive.
The steady stream of updates only furthers the desire to check out every corner of the website.
Wealthy Affiliate clients should remember why they signed up for the site and keep focused on website building, using all the new tools available to them to help them on that journey.
A further “con” or noted complaint is that the free version of the service is insufficient and users will have to opt for the premium version. This is true for most “freemium” business models.
This is mostly negated by the fact that the client has no obligation to sign up for the premium version, and a ton of content is available with the free version. It is true, however, that the free version is designed to make the user “want more” and thus upgrade to premium.
How long does it take to get started with Wealthy Affiliate and begin earning money?
Making a website with Wealthy Affiliate takes 30 seconds.
Yes, you read that correctly. Their website building platform lets you build a website in just 30 seconds.
Afterwards, writing content is up to you. Finding your interest and getting started shouldn’t take very long, and many users begin earning money after about a week.
Who can benefit from Wealthy Affiliate?
Well, people who like earning passive income! But more specifically, what are some examples of someone who would particularly benefit from Wealthy Affiliate’s educational services?
Someone who can ideally work from home, has expertise they are willing to share, and is prepared to make the initial time investment to get revenue streams flowing.
Examples of this could be a worker who requires an additional revenue stream; a writer who is already producing web content, but is not earning income from it; a stay-at-home parent who has time in their day to develop web content.
So should I get started with Wealthy Affiliate?
My verdict is a definite YES. The website is trustworthy, expansive, and unique. It offers unparalleled access to a support community, professional coaching, and streamlined services. Its website building platform is a particular strength and can save you the headache of finding a web host and building your site. The forums and chat services can enhance your learning and help you get through those initial tricky stages of getting revenue flowing from your web content.
Final verdict: 4.9/5. I recommend this service without any hesitation for the newbie to the affiliate marketing world, as well as the seasoned veteran who is looking for time-saving tools.
